Nick Werner, Interim Chief Investment Officer of Berkeley Endowment Management Company: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicholas-werner-27673b4/
Eduard van Gelderen, Senior Managing Director and head of the Pension Fund for the UC system: https://www.linkedin.com/in/eduard-van-gelderen-68b15111/
The panel will be moderated by Melissa Hulme, Haas MBA '19, who had formerly worked at another university endowment... https://www.linkedin.com/in/melissa-hulme-68181721/
The format will be an introduction by each panelist of himself and his organization, followed by moderated Q&A, including questions from you as the audience. Such sessions are as much about participating as listening, so please come with questions in mind. Topics will likely include:
- trends in asset allocation for each such type of fund,
- expectations for returns and views on biggest opportunities and risks by asset class,
- how different types of obligations for such funds drive investment decisions, and
- how mission shapes work culture as well as investment decisions.
Just a note that all three of these organizations have hired Berkeley undergrads and/or MBAs for internships and/or full-time roles...
RSVP below.
Thank you.
